**The abstract deadline has been extended to Thursday, February 16th at 1:00 pm. We are excited to see all the applications that have come in, so far. Keep them coming!
Attention student scientists and educators,
You are invited to submit an abstract for the 2017 Clemson Biological Sciences Annual Student Symposium (CBASS). We welcome all undergraduate and graduate students involved in research related to the life sciences to participate. You do not have a be a biology student to participate. If your work is in any way related to the life sciences, we would like to see it represented at the symposium.
CBASS will take place on Saturday, February 25th, 2017. It will include presentations from from all life sciences-related groups at Clemson:
a morning of "Lightning Talks" by graduate students
an afternoon poster session for graduate and undergraduate students
Awards will be given for oral, grad poster, and undergrad poster presentations. In each category, 1st place will receive $100, 2nd place $75, and 3rd place $50.
The application to register for the poster and/or oral session can be accessed by clicking the button below. You can go back to edit your application at any time before the deadline. If you have any questions, please email the CBASS committee at [email protected]
Oral presentations will be done in a 'Lightning Talk' format with 5 minutes per talk followed by 2 minutes for questions. Posters should be 3'x4' and can be in either portrait or landscape orientation.
All students conducting research related to the life sciences are encouraged to present. Students early in their careers should not allow a lack of data to prevent their participation. Presentations primarily consisting of ideas or proposed projects have the potential to be very beneficial to the presenter and the symposium as a whole.
The event is designed to serve as a forum for discussion of research among peers in a friendly environment while raising awareness of ongoing projects related to life sciences at Clemson. So please feel encouraged to present your research in the low-pressure environment offered at CBASS.
The deadline for submission is Thursday, February 16th at 1:00 pm. Please e-mail any questions you have to [email protected]
We look forward to seeing your applications soon and your presentations on February 25th!
